Legacy Golf Club Opens Site for The First Tee of Phoenix

Phoenix—The First Tee of Phoenix announced today an agreement to open a junior golf programming site at Legacy Golf Club in south Phoenix. Multi-level programming begins the week of October 2, 2015, with classes on Fridays beginning at 4:30pm and Saturdays beginning at 8:30am.

“As The First Tee of Phoenix continues to expand, we’re delighted to see the growing positive impact it has on children and our community,” said Kevin Terry, Executive Director for The First Tee of Phoenix. “Our partnership with Legacy ensures that the children of south Phoenix will have the opportunity to not only learn to play the great game of golf, but also learn nine core life skills that will prepare them for success in life.”

Walk Down Memory Lane for Southwest Seniors Golf Association

Playing the historic Phoenix Country Club was a walk down memory lane for the Southwest Seniors Golf Association’s (SWSGA) twenty-two groups! Greeted by the many historic photos and enjoying the Club’s elegant charm effortlessly delivered by Director of Golf, Scott Frisch, and his staff was enjoyed by all. Following play a delicious buffet complete with cherry cobbler and ice cream was a hit while scores were posted.

Wigwam Golf Club to Enhance Famed Gold Course

LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. (June 26, 2015) – With a steadfast commitment to continued enhancement of the legendary Gold Golf Course, JDM Partners, owners of Wigwam Arizona, are renovating the bunkers in addition to making course condition improvements of the “Arizona Monster,” nicknamed as such for its well-known degree of difficulty.

The project is being done in collaboration with Tom Lehman, former British Open champion and winner of numerous PGA TOUR events, and will involve a complete renovation of the bunkers. Work will begin Monday, July 6 and is expected to be completed within eight weeks. Though the Gold Golf Course will be closed during this time, both The Patriot and The Heritage courses at the Wigwam Golf Club will remain open.

Best Stretches For Your Golf Game

This one stretch can dramatically benefit you golf game. If the hips are tight, especially the hip flexors, your body will be forced into a chronically hunched forward possession. This forward position will dramatically effect your ability to achieve a full back-swing and therefore limit your power. This limiting rotation can and will cause back pain by your body compensating with a reverse spine to get to the ball.
