MARICOPA, Ariz. – September 13, 2017 – Playing in his first Southwest PGA Championship, Jesse Mueller made his debut one to remember. The co-leader in each of the first two rounds carded a 6-under-par 66 in the final round and captured the 60th PING Southwest PGA Championship by two strokes at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
 
“I rate this as a 10 out of 10,” said Mueller. “My first Section Championship and I get a win, which you don’t get to win that often in golf. It’s something I don’t take for granted, especially since I don’t play that much anymore. I’ll cherish this forever because you don’t know when you’re going to get a chance to win a big tournament like this. It was an awesome experience all the way around.”
 
At the start of the final round, Mueller, 34, PGA Director of Golf at Grand Canyon University G.C., was tied with Craig Hocknull for the lead and paired together in the final grouping of the day.

Incheon, South Korea (AP) — Former PGA Tour winner Sangmoon Bae has put his rifle away and replaced it with his golf clubs to play in his professional tournament in more than two years.

Bae, whose last pro tournament was at the 2015 Presidents Cup in his native South Korea, will begin play Thursday in the Donghae Open. He was discharged from compulsory military service in August.

A three-time Asian Tour winner, Bae spent almost two years as a rifleman in the South Korean army.

The partnership is intended to bring the players, tournaments and fan experiences of the TOUR to a cross-cultural audience in an authentic and relatable way.

The partnership will include content development and distribution, as well as data transparency and insights that will provide the PGA TOUR with unique intelligence about this influential demographic and how it reacts to the stories and experiences of golf and its world class athletes.

The PGA TOUR and mitú will launch their partnership with the debut of "Watcha Golf," a series featuring TOUR members Jon Rahm, Jhonattan Vegas and Camilo Villegas, who will be facing a team of Latino comedians in an unusual challenge where some of the misconceptions and realities of golf will collide.

Preliminary Approval Granted with Site Zoned and Ready for Fall 2017 Construction

PHOENIX, Sept. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Drive Shack formally announced plans to open a new golf entertainment venue in the West Valley area of Phoenix. Preliminary approval for the approximately 60,000-square-foot, multi-level complex has been granted and construction will soon be underway. Located directly across from University of Phoenix Stadium, the new location will sit at the southwest corner of Bethany Home Road and 99th Avenue, just off Loop 101. Drive Shack anticipates the need to hire for 500 positions at the new location.

The BMW Championship is the third of four events in the FedExCup Playoffs and determines the final field of 30 for the TOUR Championship. The event takes place at Conway Farms Golf Course in Lake Forest, IL.

In 2016, Dustin Johnson won the championship by closing with a 5-under 67, beating Paul Casey by 3 shots.

Callaway's X Forged irons have somewhat of a cult following in the equipment industry. The better player model made its debut in 2007 and last saw an update in 2013, but that hasn't stopped several Callaway staffers from continuing to play the iron, including Phil Mickelson.

Based on photos from an Alba story out of Japan, Mickelson and others might not have to wait too much longer for the next installment. According to the article, Callaway's new X Forged will debut in Asia in mid-October with updated grooves and a new cavity-back design.

Callaway Japan has not yet listed the irons on its website, but what many golfers in the U.S. are wondering is if the company will release X Forged in the States at some point.

While Callaway has remained quiet regarding the possibility of a launch, the sheer popularity of the cavity-back iron makes it safe to assume something is in the works.

The game of golf has changed wordlwide and the USGA and R&A have proposed revisions to the rules of the game. They've asked golfers from 102 countries to offer their feedback as well as taken into account reviews from golfers who have played under the new ruleset. This would be the largest overhaul in over 3 decades. The rulebook, which would be launched in 2019, has been slimmed down from 34 to 24 core rules and aims to make the game easier to comprehend, less prone to controversy, and to speed up the pace of play.
