Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas Among First Commitments to 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Last year’s PGA TOUR Player of the Year Justin Thomas, three-time Major winner Jordan Spieth and perennial fan favorite Rickie Fowler are among the first players to commit to the 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community, set to tee it up January 29-February 4 at TPC Scottsdale.

Additionally, Charley Hoffman, a longtime Waste Management Ambassador and currently the 23rd-ranked golfer in the world, also committed to the play.  A field of 132 players will vie for the $6.9 million purse, the $1,242,000 first-place check and 500 FedExCup points.

“Jordan, Justin and Rickie are some of the most talented and popular golfers in the world and we’re thrilled they’ve committed to play,” said Tournament Chairman Carlos Sugich.  “All three of these players, as well as Charley, are great ambassadors for our tournament and we’re excited to watch them compete in 2018.”

Koepka, Matsuyama and Watson Among Latest Commitments to 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Two-time defending champion Hideki Matsuyama, 2017 U.S. Open champion and former WM Phoenix Open winner Brooks Koepka, and two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson are among the latest players to commit to the 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community, set to tee it up January 29-February 4 at TPC Scottsdale. A field of 132 players will vie for the $6.9 million purse, the $1,242,000 first-place check and 500 FedExCup points.

“It is always special to have a former champion in the field, and Brooks and Hideki represent the last three winners of the Waste Management Phoenix Open,” said Tournament Chairman Carlos Sugich. “Bubba is a great friend to the tournament and always one of the first to commit and we are excited to have him back for 2018 as well.”

Currently ranked fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings, Matsuyama is coming off an excellent 2017 season with three wins including his second consecutive WM Phoenix Open title and three second-place outings that included a runner-up finish at the U.S. Open.

WM Phoenix Open Unveils 16th Hole Logo

The Waste Management Phoenix Open has unveiled a logo for their signature 16th stadium-hole. The three-level stadium features skyboxes, suites, and general admission bleacher seats. Snagging one of the general admission seats can be a tough task which usually means getting there extremely early and running fast or waiting in a lengthy line outside of the stadium. The cheers, chants, and boos of the fans can be heard nearly anywhere on the course, especially by the PGA Tour players before walking through the tunnel from the fifteenth green.

OneRepublic to Headline Coors Light Birds Nest Friday Lineup

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – GRAMMY-nominated American pop-rock quintet OneRepublic is the latest lineup addition to the Coors Light Birds Nest – the popular entertainment venue at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community. OneRepublic is making its first appearance at the Coors Light Birds Nest and will take the stage on Friday, Feb. 2. The evening is being presented by Hakkasan Nightclub, voted #1 nightclub in North America.

“We are excited to see how our music lineup is shaping up and thrilled to announce that OneRepublic will be a part of our concert series this year,” said Coors Light Birds Nest Chairman Dodge Earnhardt.

The Coors Light Birds Nest lineup is now nearly complete. Other artists scheduled to perform include Flo Rida and Kelley James on Wednesday, Jan. 30; and Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane on Thursday, Feb. 1.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – GRAMMY-nominated rapper and songwriter Flo Rida is the latest artist announced to the music lineup to the Coors Light Birds Nest – the popular entertainment venue at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community.

Flo Rida made his first appearance at the Coors Light Birds Nest in 2017 and will be joined by repeat performer Kelley James on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

The Coors Light Birds Nest lineup is now nearly complete. Other artists scheduled to perform include Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane on Thursday, Feb. 1 and OneRepublic on Friday, Feb. 2. Saturday’s lineup is expected to be announced in early January.
