Bryson Dechambeau on how to "Bryson-proof" a course before Shriners
Bryson DeChambeau’s first start since winning the U.S. Open is off to a good start. The long hitter, whose physical transformation has been the talk of the TOUR, shot 59 in Wednesday’s pro-am for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
DeChambeau’s round got off to a relatively slow start. He made birdie on the first hole but was just 3 under par after eight holes. A birdie on the par-5 ninth hole gave him a 4-under 31 on the front nine. He turned it on when he made the turn, making birdie on the first six holes of the back nine before an eagle at the par-5 16th. DeChambeau lipped out a putt on 18 for 58. He shot 8-under 28 on his final nine holes.
In this video, Neil Tappin lists out the 10 items every golfer should carry. This is not about the obvious things like clubs and balls but all those other things that can make a big difference to your game, especially in difficult weather conditions. Carrying all the things you need without making your bag too heavy is a tricky balance - Neil's pointers should help you get it right!

Early in the week of the Cambia Portland Classic, when smoke from the Oregon wildfires wiped out practice and trimmed the tournament to 54 holes, LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan tweeted:
“Hey 2020 – that all you got?? Virus, quarantine, borders, air quality, extreme temps, limited travel, no fans, etc. No worries – you can’t stop @LPGA ! We #DriveOn – 70 years & never stronger!”
As if to prove Whan’s point, the Tour’s passage through the Pacific Northwest served up more than its share of excitement, needing two holes beyond the planned 54 before Georgia Hall topped Ashleigh Buhai on Sunday.
“I was pretty nervous the last six holes and definitely in the playoff, but I'm really happy to get the job done,” Hall said after securing the victory on the second extra hole. “I'm happy to get over the line and get my first American win.”
Hall, who started the final round four strokes behind leader Mel Reid, closed with a 68 to complete three rounds at 12-under-par 204. Buhai was even better in the final round, finishing with a 65 to erase a seven-stroke deficit and earn a spot in the playoff.

Bryson DeChambeau made his Ryder Cup debut as a Captain's pick in 2018 and now has himself in prime position to make the 2020 USA Team after claiming his first major championship.
DeChambeau moved from sixth to second in the USA Ryder Cup point standings with his win at Winged Foot as he looks to lock down a roster spot for the 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits Sept. 21-26, 2021.
Though much is being made of DeChambeau's body transformation and overpowering golf courses week in and week out, PGA Coach Joanna Coe believes there is another key part of DeChambeau's game that golfers of all levels could learn from most.

PHOENIX – PGA TOUR Champions announced today that its tournaments in 2020 and 2021 will combine to form one season, and the next Charles Schwab Cup champion will be crowned in November 2021 at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship. The 2020 Charles Schwab Cup Championship will be converted to a regular season event, featuring an expanded field of 81 players and an additional pro-am day scheduled for Thursday, November 5.
Due to the circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, eight PGA TOUR Champions tournaments have been canceled from the original 27-tournament schedule. A number of other events have been rescheduled to later in the calendar year and a decision on The Senior Open presented by Rolex will be forthcoming.
In an effort to uphold the competitive integrity of the Charles Schwab Cup, PGA TOUR Champions will combine the 2020 and 2021 seasons and form a singular 2020-21 season. In addition, other measures are being taken to offset some of the impact made by the cancellation of tournaments.
In 2020, the field size of tournaments will increase from 78 to 81 players.
In 2020, the three Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs events will be converted into 81-player fields.

The LPGA announced that the 2020 Volvik Founders Cup, originally postponed on March 12 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will not be held this year. The tournament will return to the LPGA Tour schedule in 2021 at Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.
“First and foremost, the health and safety of the players and the greater Phoenix community were in our minds as we made this decision,” said Tournament Director Scott Wood. “As the entire LPGA Tour competitive schedule shifted later into the year, it became more difficult to find a suitable date. As we shift our focus to 2021, the tournament staff is already working tirelessly to ensure an incredible week of competition and fun next March.”
Cancellation details will be shared with purchasers via email.
