Drive Shack Swings Into Another New Market With Golf Entertainment Complex Set to Open in Phoenix

Preliminary Approval Granted with Site Zoned and Ready for Fall 2017 Construction

PHOENIX, Sept. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Drive Shack formally announced plans to open a new golf entertainment venue in the West Valley area of Phoenix. Preliminary approval for the approximately 60,000-square-foot, multi-level complex has been granted and construction will soon be underway. Located directly across from University of Phoenix Stadium, the new location will sit at the southwest corner of Bethany Home Road and 99th Avenue, just off Loop 101. Drive Shack anticipates the need to hire for 500 positions at the new location.

"Drive Shack's vision to provide an innovative, vibrant destination for families, young professionals, corporate groups and anyone looking to enjoy a classic sport in a dynamic new way is magnetic.  In addition, having this location centered in the heart of the city's burgeoning West Valley submarket is truly something we look forward to sharing with the community," said City of Phoenix District 5 Councilman Daniel Valenzuela. "Beyond creating quality jobs and the direct economic impact it's sure to have in our city, Drive Shack's approach to working with local businesses is unique and refreshing.  We are thrilled to engage and weave them into the fabric of our great city."

Drive Shack is a year-round sports entertainment destination that combines golf, dining, competition and fun.  The new West Valley location will feature three levels with 96 hitting bays housed within a building where friends, family, coworkers or complete strangers can enjoy tech-powered golf games while using complementary TaylorMade golf equipment and enjoying great food and beverages.  Visitors can also spectate from the restaurant area, event space, or complimentary game lounge.  Drive Shack will curate and support a compelling, unforgettable customer experience that will keep golfers and non-golfers alike coming back to the Western Maricopa County area yearlong.

"We are proud to partner with the city and local business community to build a world-class community asset and have a lasting impact. We have taken the traditional golf driving range and pivoted the experience via cutting edge technology to make the sport of golf more exciting and accessible to golfers and non-golfers alike," said Sarah Watterson, Drive Shack's CEO.
Drive Shack will be located within Aldea Centre, a John F. Long Properties development.

"Drive Shack's modern, urban design vision is to provide an environment deeply rooted in fun, golf entertainment that also offers world-class food and drinks delivered with unmatched customer service. This thoughtfulness is evident in every aspect of design and quality of construction, as well as in the overall customer experience," said Jim Miller, director of real estate with John F. Long Properties.  "This will be a venue residents of the West Valley can certainly look forward to utilizing and one the community can be proud to have in the region."
