Imagine being able to play in a tournament similar to the Ryder Cup, playing for your country against our neighbors to the south, Mexico. Now you can in the Uniting Nations Cup amateur series' USA vs. Mexico Match Play Challenge.

Men and women amateur golfers from the United States and Canada with a verifiable Handicap Index are invited to register for the tournament to be played at Rancho San Lucas - Somar Golf Links, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

A look at Somar Golf Links

Centerpiece of an 834-acre resort and residential community fronting the Pacific Ocean and 15 minutes from downtown Cabo San Lucas, the Greg Norman-designed course at Rancho San Lucas is poised to become the destination’s next great venue.

The versatile 7,210-yard, par-72 layout boasts a handful of holes on the beach, notably the par-3 third, which parallels the sea and will give players fine views of breaching whales during the winter months. There’s also a signature island green at the par-3 17th hole.

One of the defining characteristics of Solmar Golf Links is its riveted pot bunkers. These sharp-edged, steep-walled sandy pits are the product of a British company that uses recycled materials to construct golf bunkers. Built from reprocessed artificial turf, the fairway and greenside bunkers at Solmar Golf Links are nearly identical to the natural sod-walled bunkers found on British seaside links courses. They lend Norman’s first 18-hole course in Los Cabos a distinctive look.

With two well-positioned comfort stations on the course, players will enjoy a relaxing, all-inclusive experience during the round. A handsome ranch-themed clubhouse with an indoor-outdoor restaurant and event lawn overlooks the fairways and sea.
